I am thrilled to announce that this year we will be holding our biennial Holiday Benefit Show. The show will tell the story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. This year’s show is scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 6pm at Saegertown Jr/Sr. High School. All students are invited to participate, however, each individual class will not be performing, as several classes will be combined. This show is designed so that all dancers will be able to perform in at least one dance. This cuts back the length of the show to approximately one hour in length, making it less formal, while still allowing each dancer the joy of an on-stage holiday performance.
Show Requirements: We do not order costumes for the Holiday Benefit Show. We do our best to design ‘costumes’ with items the dancers already have and/or items we purchase through the studio, loan to the students, and reuse in years to come. Costume requirements will be available no later than the first week of November. Additionally, there is no additional ’performance fee’ to participate. We do charge a small admittance fee to the show for audience members, which is then donated to a local charity. We intend to donate proceeds to the Make A Wish Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania this year.
If your dancer(s) wishes to participate in the 2011 Holiday Benefit Show, here’s what you need to do: Fill out your Holiday Benefit Intent Form and mail or return it to the studio no later than October 28, 2011. We understand that the time around the holidays is a busy time for individuals and families, that is why it is important that you let us know whether or not your dancer will participate so we can plan accordingly for staging purposes. If your dancer cannot participate, he/she is still welcome to attend class as we will be learning new steps/sequences while rehearsing the dances.
